Design: | Animals were genotyped using the Affymetrix Axiom Equine Genotyping Array and GWAS was performed for mushroom coat color dilution. A total of 356K SNPs were used for analysis. |
Analysis: | A single-locus linear mixed model was used for GWAS. Associations were validated in additional Shetland ponies and screened in four additional breeds. Whole-genome sequencing was performed on one animal to identify potential causative variants. |
