Animals:All animals in the study belonged to the dual-purpose Norwegian Dairy Cattle breed. The animals were organized in a granddaughter design consisting of 35 elite sire families that were chosen because of their relatively large number of progeny-tested
     Breeds associated:
    n/a
Design:The PTA for the 5 milk production traits (milk yield, fat percentage, fat yield, protein percentage, and protein yield) were analyzed.
Analysis:Sixteen publicly available microsatellites in the region around the putative QTL on chromosome 6 were tested. Each of the 5 milk traits was analyzed separately using the combined linkage and linkage disequilibrium method.
    Software:Cri-Map
