  •  QTL Experiment in Brief
Animals:Animals from the 10 largest dairy cattle half-sib families in Sweden were used in a granddaughter design.
     Breeds associated:
    n/a
Design:Clinical mastitis was defined as a binary trait. The trait SCC was defined as the lactation mean of log-10 transformed SCC values obtained from the milk-recording scheme. Other diseases were pooled and treated as one separate trait.
Analysis:Genotypes for 116 markers distributed over 17 chromosomes were determined. Statistical methods such as least squares or maximum likelihood are used in QTL mapping to determine a marker or marker bracket associated with the trait.
    Software:Cri-Map
