Design:Interval analysis of growth, carcass composition and quality characteristics against the BTA19 map to localise the position of the detected QTLs relative to KHGH1 and GH1.
Analysis:A PCR-based screening of our bovine BAC library identified a clone (BAC110R2C3) which was verified as containing GH1 by cycle sequencing the PCR fragment on an ABI 373 automated sequencer and aligning the obtained sequence with the published GH1 sequence.
